FOSTERS BAKERY FACTORY SHOP - MAPPLEWELL
This shop operates as a factory shop for 4 hours each week.
CURRENT HOURS
Thursday 10:00am to 12:00noon
Saturday 10:00am to 12:00noon
All the goods sold at this shop are perfectly wholesome, complying with food safety requirements but they may be slight misshapen, “end of run” products, products near their best before date. We sell about 1 million products every week so some imperfect ones are inevitable.
It is a FACTORY shop that has operated for decades - originally for Fosters Bakery staff.
Fosters Bakery employees and retirees have priority to purchase goods first and to jump the queue. Staff doing this need to show their staff identity card.
Staff and Directors pay the same price as members of the public.
After this, for non- Fosters staff - first come - first served.
Margaret our shopkeeper is very nice and polite but she will not give the same level of service or display that you might expect at our other shops; this is a factory shop with bargain prices and you get what you pay for.
Courtesy and assistance is available to people with disability – let Margaret know.
Prices vary from week to week and market forces rule: if we have less availability the prices are higher – but always a bargain.
If we have no product available the shop will not open that day – without notice – and YES it does sometimes happen.
The number and types of product vary from week to week dependent upon availability; you take pot luck.
No pre-ordering and we don’t deliver.
Bring your own carrier bag or buy one from us at 3p each; no debate – it’s the environment, health & safety, data protection regs or any other rule that you can think of. They are 3p each!
If you buy goods from our factory shop you may not legally resell them. When food is sold by the producer directly to the public the labelling regulations are different from when goods are sold by a 3rd party (retailer) Also they do not carry our normal commercial warranty.
It is a condition of sale that you will not attempt to sell our factory shop products under the Fosters brand or otherwise advertise or identify them as being from Fosters. Anyone breaking this rule is in breach of contract – we’ll sue! Or maybe we’ll look over our spectacles at you in a disapproving manner!
