Fosters Bakery is based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, from where we bake and supply breads, rolls and confectionery to supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, catering establishments, food manufacturers and a variety of other outlets in the UK and abroad.

Our Mission is “to enhance our reputation and that of our customers, in developing food service and retail markets” We make bespoke and unusual breads to enhance the design of sandwiches and other foods requiring bread as an ingredient.

The Bakery employs 230 people and, with worldwide sales of more than £10million per annum and more than a million products per week.
Fosters Bakery embodies both quality and tradition but is also always forward thinking both in our willingness to integrate new technologies into this traditional industry and in our progressive employment policies.
The main Towngate bakery operates a “no nuts” policy. We don’t allow any nut products on site but we operate a separate smaller bakery at Blacker Road, Mapplewell that makes all our nut lines like Almond slices, hazelnut shortbread and bakewell tarts.
Our bakery generally operates to the “BRC” Global Food Standard - Issue 6 Grade A with the exception of our confectionery lines which are produced to the Salsa Food Safety Standard.
